Brian McKay, Executive Director

Brian is an accomplished leader with more than 15 years of progressive maintenance and leadership experience in higher education, large-scale maintenance operations, and the U.S. Air Force.

He is a people‑oriented facilities management professional known for improving operational efficiency and supporting staff development.

As Executive Director, Facilities Services, Brian leads a team of nearly 300 staff who provide utilities services, MEP and trade services, custodial operations, and business process improvement across the university.

The mission of Custodial Services is to provide a clean, healthy and safe environment for the campus community.

Facilities Operations

Jason Guerrette, Associate Director

The mission of Facilities Operations is to maintain and repair campus buildings, infrastructure, and building systems to support Texas State University’s mission. Facilities Operations manages all trade shops to provide safe, clean, and reliable learning and working environments through responsive service and preventive maintenance.

Grounds and Waste Management

Nathan Lawrence, Director

The mission of Grounds and Waste Management is to preserve the aesthetics of the university landscape while promoting a safe and sustainable environment for students, faculty, and staff through tree maintenance, water efficiency, composting, recycling, and promoting drought-resistant plants.

Utilities Operations

Carl Teague, Assistant Director

The mission of Utilities Operations is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient utility services that support the academic, research, and residential needs of Texas State University, while advancing effective energy management, campus-wide efficiency, and long-term infrastructure reliability.
