STEM Classroom Building

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Classroom Building, located on the San Marcos Campus, will house the Departments of Mathematics and Computer Science, and will provide teaching space, class labs, departmental offices, and research labs for several other academic disciplines.

Budget: $137,409,972

Status: Construction – 60%.

• Building enclosure and interior rough-in activities progressed this period, including wall one-side/insulation, south elevation window frame and glass installation, air barrier waterproofing at the radius wall, electrical rough-in, ductwork, hydronic piping, storm drain installation, and French drain backfill.
• Precast installation advanced at the upper levels, including work beginning at the Level 6 east elevation, with additional precast progress reflected at the west elevation.
• MEP and site utility work remained active, with continued progress on electrical systems, HVAC ductwork, hydronic piping, and underground drainage infrastructure.
• Near-term planned work includes continued wall insulation and exterior window installation, domestic water and fire suppression piping, firestopping at perimeter walls, additional precast installation at Level 7, duct insulation, storm drain work, and temporary roofing.

Scope: New 168,000 GSF academic/lab building will house the Departments of Mathematics and Computer Science on the San Marcos Campus.
